"HEAT-FORM" A3 Leather

Leather for speedy heat forming into hardened and durable shapes such as knife sheaths, trays and bowls, product or gadget stands, masks and arm braces.   ”HEAT-FORM” Leather Blanks (made in the UK) Available in three thicknesses, approx measurements given may slightly vary from the listing. Heavyweight 3.0-3.5mm  Mediumweight 2.5-2.8mm  Lightweight 1.0-1.5mm This leather has been made to stay extremely firm. It is a mineral based simple tannage with a large amount of wax impregnated to give it a solid but natural feel, without compromising on the beauty of the leather grain. The wax content can be re-melted with heat (such as that from a heat press, domestic iron or heat gun or hair dryer) and once the wax is melted through, the leather can be shaped and heat formed quickly. Within about 90 seconds the leather will be rock hard again holding the form permanently. A much quicker and easier process than wet-forming. It makes for a great sustainable alternative to synthetic thermoforming materials which tend to have a high plastic (oil based content).
