Fine un-waxed pure flax (linen) thread ideal for book-binding, conservation, re-enactment and fine hand stitching for working with lightweight leathers. Can also be used for machine stitching.

Available in Black, Brown or Natural (off-white).

Coats Barbour Linen thread is ideal for conservation uses and is made using only the highest quality flax fibres. It has a high tensile strength and doesn't stretch. It is commonly used n bookbinding in the re-sewing of books in place of silk threads. It is a fine thread and is ideal for hand -stitching lightweight leathers and hair on hides and skins. It is also suitable for machine stitching.

It is unwaxed with a satin feel. This thread can be hand waxed by cutting a groove in a beeswax block and running the thread through the channel to coat it.

Size 25/3 (3 ply) The first number is the thickness of the thread. The higher the number, the thinner the thread. The second number is the number of strands that are twisted together to make the thread.
