Part of our Heritage Leather collection - this is a lovely soft mellow heavier-type dark brown vegetable tanned leather with full characteristic grain and contour like markings. Due to the wax content which is produced using fats and waxes, occasionally a white 'plume', similar to bridle, can develop in places which can be polished out.
These special leathers have been made and rescued from the old Clayton's Tannery in Derbyshire, made from UK grass fed farm herds.
Authentic, heritage UK vegetable tanned leather in a weight of around 2.5-3.0mm and some at 3.5mm+, with a characteristic surface grain pattern.
