Tool for creating a channel for stitches to lie in or for edge decoration.
With a wood handle the adjustable groover is mainly used for gouging out a channel in leather to enable stitching to lie flush with the leather surface.
It also has the advantage of keeping your stitches in a neat line.
The groover can be adjusted to run parallel to the leather edge, width 2 to 19mm (1/16" to 3/4"). It can also be used to create decorative lines on belts and straps. Once a line is created run the tip of a bone folder along to smooth and burnish inside the channel.
A small screwdriver is needed to loosen and tighten the blade for width adjustment.
